Research
My research involves the improvement of a range of ornamental crops important to the Southeast. Projects include 1) the in vitro regeneration and polyploid induction of Acer platanoides L. ‘Crimson Sentry’, 2) a survey of genome size and ploidy of Liriopogon cultivars and development of protocols for micropropagation and polyploidization of Liriope platyphylla Wang et Tang, and 3) investigating the heritability of fragrance and flower color in hybrid progeny of Rhododendron luteum Sweet ‘Golden Comet’ x Rhododendron atlanticum Rheder ‘Snowbird’.
