Peanuts
The peanut breeding program at NC State works primarily on Virginia type peanuts. Particular traits of interest include aesthetic shell quality, kernel size, flavor, and oleic acid content. The peanut breeders also breed for yield, abiotic and biotic stress tolerance, disease resistance, drought tolerance, and insect tolerance.
